Game 43: Mets vs. Yankees @ Shea Stadium

John Maine looks for his sixth win and a Mets sweep against Yankee rookie Tyler Clippard.

The Good: David Wright's rocket home run to right and Damion Easley's homer off of Mariano Rivera. Paul LoDuca also racked up a few hits.

The Bad: The game turned on a bloop hit by Johnny Damon that Shawn Green couldn't catch up to. The Mets had a chance to break the game open on a bases loaded, 3-1 pitch to Reyes but he popped the ball to left. The Mets also made Yankee starter, Tyler Clippard, look like Cy Young.

Overall: Kind of puts a damper on a good weekend, but the Mets still won the series.

2 Cents: Shawn Green has been great with the bat all year but his play in the outfield has really cost the Mets on various occassions. Tough loss but give the Yanks credit for battling.

Notes: El Duque may be able to come back next weekend to face the Marlins if he feels good after a scheduled bullpen session.

Final Score: Mets 2, Yankees 6. Record: 28-15.
