Game 57: Mets vs. Phillies @ Shea Stadium.
El Duque looks to get the Mets going against the Phillies tonight as the Mets take on Adam Eaton.
The Good: Carlos Beltran homered to deep left and Carlos Delgado added an rbi groundout. Things looked good until the Jimmy Rollins batted in the seventh. Even in the bottom half of th inning, the Mets had numerous chances to score but ended up without any runs an an apparent Endy Chavez torn hamstring.
The Bad: The Mets waste six shutout innings from El Duque. Jimmy Rollins is walking the walk and Aaron Heilman is sucking. Schoeneweis continues to look terrible as well and allowed more runs during the eighth inning to make any Met comeback seemingly impossible.
Overall: 2 games dropped to the Phillies. The Mets can make things slightly better by taking tomorrow's series finale and limiting the damage.
2 Cents: Gary Cohen said it best: "This just seems like one of those games..." With a blown game, bad offense, and more serious injuries, the Mets seem to be in trouble.
Final Score: Mets 2, Phillies 4. Record: 35-22.
